The Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry (MEMI) and its Department held a Healthy Lifestyle Programme: Trekking and Plogging Activity on Wednesday, 19th September 2018 at Tasek Lama Recreational Park. The activity was led by Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry.
The activity combined hiking and picking up litters as a way to keep the environment clean while promoting an eco-conscious exercise. It aims to strengthen the relations among the staff of MEMI and its stakeholders.
Also in attendance were Yang Mulia Haji Azhar bin Haji Yahya, Permanent Secretary (Energy); Yang Mulia Haji Zolkiflee bin Haji Abdul Karim, Permanent Secretary (Manpower); Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Ali Hassan, Permanent Secretary (Industry) of MEMI; Yang Mulia Awg Hj Amer Hishamuddin bin POKAPDSS Hj Zakaria , Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Development; Yang Mulia Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Management, Cooperatives and Industry); Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Jamra Weira bin Pengiran Haji Petra, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Power, IT and E-Government) of MEMI; Yang Mulia Pengiran Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Hj Mustapha, Managing Director of Brunei Shell Marketing Sdn Bhd; Mr. Haydn Ian Furlonge, Chief Executive Officer of Petroleum Brunei as well as senior officials, officers and staff of MEMI; Ministry of Development; the Department of Electrical Services; Brunei Shell Marketing Sdn Bhd and Petroleum Brunei.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat followed by a briefing session. A warm-up session was also conducted prior to the start of the trekking and plogging activity. The group later walked and hiked along the Sarang Helang Route while picking up litter.
