The Brunei Halal Showcase (BruHAS) 2018 was officially launched on the 8th August 2018. Organised by the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry and the University Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), BruHAS 2018 is being held from 8th to 12th August 2018 at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas. The Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mat Suny bin Haji Mohd. Hussein, Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry, launched the opening of the Brunei Halal Showcase (BruHAS) 2018.
The launching ceremony started with welcoming remarks from Dr. Hajah Mas Nooraini binti Haji Mohiddin, Co-Chairperson of the BruHAS 2018 Organising Committee and Dean of the Faculty of Syariah and Law, University Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), which was later followed by the official launching of BruHAS 2018 by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mat Suny bin Haji Mohd. Hussein, Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry.
A keynote presentation on "The Stability of Halalan Thayyiban Industry as a Catalyst of Zikir State" was also delivered by Yang Mulia Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Japar bin Haji Mat Dain @ Maidin, Deputy State Mufti. Also in attendance were Yang Mulia Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs; Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry; Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretaries of the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry and the Ministry of Religious Affairs as well as foreign dignitaries and senior officials.
The BruHAS 2018, themed "Developing the Halalan Thayyiban Industry Towards Achieving the 2035 National Vision", demonstrates the wider sphere of the Halal Industry economy, including companies from the food and beverage sectors, pharmaceuticals, cosmetic and personal care, modest fashion and services sector. The event aims to develop the local Halal industry by increasing awareness among the public of the latest Halal industry developments and academic research on Halalan Thayyiban products; to support MSMEs to become internationally competitive through market connectivity and linkages with international exhibitors participating in BruHAS; to facilitate the development of new markets for import and export of Halal products; and to establish and strengthen business relations between Halal market participants.
Concurrent events will also be conducted during BruHAS 2018, namely the 2nd Halalan Thayyiban Products and Services Expo, the 3rd International Seminar on Halalan Thayyiban Products and Services (SAPPHAT III), Halal Business Investment Seminar, BruHAS Clinic, and the Business Networking and Matching Session. SAPPHAT III is co-organised by the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry and UNISSA.
The 2nd Halalan Thayyiban Products and Services Expo is participated by more than a hundred local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and international companies from various sectors of the Halal industry, such as Food and Beverage, Cosmetics and Personal Care, Modest Fashion, and Halal Service Providers. Participating vendors will continue to be at ICC every day until 12th August from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. participating vendors are also invited to join the Business Networking and Matching Session, which will be conducted on 11th August 2018.
The Halal Business Investment Seminar will be held from 2:30pm to 4:30pm on 09th August 2018. The BruHAS Clinic will be held on 11th August 2018 from 10:00 am to 4:30pm. These events will be open to the public and more information is available on http://www.memi.gov.bn/bruhas2018.
